This books gives a past and present viewpoint. In the beginning, it opens with Jessa’s viewpoint on the Marine Chaplain coming to her house. She is freaking out wondering if it is her bother who died or her boyfriend. This then turns into her remembering a couple of weeks earlier when both her bother and, at that time, her bother’s best friend were home on leave. The book takes us through the few weeks that they were home, with both viewpoints from herself and her boyfriend/bother’s friend, Kit. It shows how they were both feeling as time was getting closer to Kit and her bother going off to war. When the answer of who actually does die comes up, the book takes us on the adventure of love and loss, along with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), through the present time. I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.
