This book involves a love/hate relationship between Amber and her older brother’s best friend, Liam. Amber and her brother, Jake, come from a household with an abusive father. One night while Amber was in her bed crying Jake saw her crying and came in through her window. That night he slept in her bed with her to keep her calm. Since then, every night Liam would climb through the window and sleep with her for eight years, in order for her to not get nightmares. One day Amber starts to see Liam differently then she usually does. But this eventually affects her relationship with Liam and her brother. But it also affects the relationship between her brother and Liam. I give this book a 4.75 out of 5 stars.

I found this book to be quite interesting. It had point where I did not want to continue to read the book but in all, I really wanted to finish it to see what happens. At times, Sydney (Syd) sounded like a whiny child and never seemed to know what was going on at points. Kyler, Syd’s best friend and love interest, doesn’t feel worthy enough for her, so he ignores his feelings for her and hooks up with other girls. In the end, they ended up actually talking and communicating to each other. This book has romance and even some mystery. I give this book a 3 out of 5 stars.

A Place in the Sun

This book is about a woman, Georgie, who needs to escape her family and all the blind dates her mom is sending her on. She ends up traveling to a small town near the cost of Italy known as Vernazza. While there she experiences all that this little town has to offer, including the ocean, the food, and even love. She ends up meeting a tall, dark handsome man, Gianluca. Throughout the book, we get to see both points of view. There is love, heartbreak, and even some comical escape in it. They both have things they would rather not discuss and they later find out that they do not want to be apart no matter what their past may hold. I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

Come Back to Me

This books gives a past and present viewpoint. In the beginning, it opens with Jessa’s viewpoint on the Marine Chaplain coming to her house. She is freaking out wondering if it is her bother who died or her boyfriend. This then turns into her remembering a couple of weeks earlier when both her bother and, at that time, her bother’s best friend were home on leave. The book takes us through the few weeks that they were home, with both viewpoints from herself and her boyfriend/bother’s friend, Kit. It shows how they were both feeling as time was getting closer to Kit and her bother going off to war. When the answer of who actually does die comes up, the book takes us on the adventure of love and loss, along with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), through the present time. I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

Why I Chose this Topic

,

I chose this topic because I love reading books. I feel giving my opinion on books that I thought were interesting could cause more readers out there to want to read as well. Some people see books and think that they are not interesting, but I feel with an actual person personal review on the book some potential readers could then later chose to pick up a book as well and want to read it. This process is a great way to escape any possible problems a person could be having, but it can also help with building knowledge for the reader. I feel really strongly that people should read books and not just because schools make them read, but because they enjoy it and want to.
